How are You Tackling the War on Plastic?
Have you been watching BBC1’s ‘War on Plastic with Hugh and Anita’ over the last few weeks? It’s definitely been an eye-opener for us here at Klean Kanteen UK. If you’ve missed any of the episodes, you can catch up on BBC iPlayer here – https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/m0005xh7/war-on-plastic-with-hugh-and-anita.
So how can we tackle the War on Plastic? Here are some ideas:
Bring Your Own and Refill
Did you spot Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall sporting an 800ml Klean Kanteen Classic water bottle throughout the series? It’s not just at home that you can reduce your consumption of single-use plastic. Whenever you go out, take a reusable water bottle, flask or coffee cup with you and refill on the go.
There’s a fantastic app available that tells you which shops in the UK have signed up to offer free tap water refills. You can find out more about the app here - https://refill.org.uk/get-the-refill-app/

Use less plastic as a festival-goer
With the summer festival season upon us, check out our latest Klean Kanteen/Less Plastic/FRANK Water infographic ‘9 Ways To Use Less Plastic’ by author and founder of Less Plastic, Amanda Keetley. With ideas from reusable makeup wipes and plastic-free toothbrushes, to compostable serveware and eco-friendly bio-glitter, if every festival-goer made just one small change, it could make a big difference.
Our 1% for the Planet NGO, FRANK Water, are attending a number of music festivals this year, serving unlimited refills of filtered, chilled water to festival-goers who purchase a reusable FRANK Water bottle or wrist band from marquees or the roaming FRANK Tanks. Find out which festivals FRANK Water will be at here: https://www.frankwater.com/festival-refill
